surfactor Germany GmbH develops and produces surface materials for the woodworking industry. The portfolio comprises impregnated papers, films and custom surface solutions based on resins, which are used, among other things, for shuttering panels, furniture surfaces, veneer coating and special applications. The company's ambition is the development of new materials with a balanced mix of material properties, based on many years of experience in handling resins and modern technologies. In addition to production, surfactor offers product development and sales. The company builds on a tradition of more than 75 years in the surface industry. The administrative headquarters are located in Essen, while the production facility is in Schöppenstedt (Lower Saxony), where production facilities for impregnated papers are situated. Due to the nature of these facilities, the plant is subject to the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and the Major Accidents Ordinance. The quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and energy management systems are certified to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001. The Managing Directors are Dr. Gunther Martin (CEO), Valerie Kreideweis (CFO) and Alfred Engelshove (COO).

Since the BImSchG came into force in 1974, the plant has been subject to the Federal Immission Control Act due to its production facilities.

Until 2003, the company traded as CASCO GmbH, after which it was renamed surfactor Germany GmbH.
