About SvoBaTech
SvoBaTech AG, headquartered in Zug, is an independent provider of services and hardware for water-cooled generators and similar electrical equipment. Its core competency is thorough, non-destructive chemical cleaning of the stator cooling water system, which can be performed online during operation or offline during outages. The process is based on chelating agents such as EDTA and removes copper oxide deposits from the hollow conductors of the stator bars without attacking the base copper material. Further services include emergency cleaning, preventive maintenance, targeted single-bar treatment, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and consulting on the design, operation and maintenance of cooling water systems. In addition, SvoBaTech develops and markets hardware such as the hydrogen leak monitoring system Statorguard, alkalization systems for pH control, and modular instrumentation skids. Team members have been involved in more than 150 chemical cleanings over more than 40 years with nine OEM manufacturers on all seven continents; customers include utilities such as FPL, AEP, ESKOM or EdF.

Media and Processes
Copper
Material of the stator bars with hollow conductors through which high-purity cooling water flows.
Copper oxide
Deposits in the cooling water channels, which are gently removed by chelate cleaning (EDTA).
High-purity stator cooling water
Medium in the hollow conductors of the stator bars; its chemistry is monitored and alkalized if necessary.
