swiss analog AG, based in Walde in the canton of Aargau, manufactures analog hi-fi devices of the HOLBORNE brand: turntables, electronics such as the PASSION integrated amplifier, phono cartridges as well as its own cable creations from the B.A.C.H. manufactory. The HOLBORNE brand was founded in 1987 by Meinrad Müller, who supplied the devices for decades in small production runs from his own manufacturing. In 2024, swiss analog AG acquired the license to manufacture all Holborne electronics products; the rights to the electronic design remain with Meinrad Müller, while the rights to the analog production lie with swiss analog AG. The devices consist of hundreds of individual parts that are manufactured primarily in Switzerland – CNC-milled turntable parts, for example, at HELE AG, further parts at Suter, Flückiger and other Swiss companies, with PCB assembly also carried out in Switzerland. The manufacturing precision of turntable bearings, tonearm mechanics, housings, motors and potentiometers is subject to high quality standards and quality tests. The PASSION integrated amplifier is based on an amplifier system described as a Tube-FET design, drawing on more than 35 years of experience in building amplifiers with tubes and semiconductors.
