About the Project
Swiss Battery documents a completed research and development project on advanced high-energy battery systems. The project was initiated in 2012 in the USA by a researcher of Swiss nationality in collaboration with a US American Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and completed in Switzerland in 2021. The focus was on transport-oriented battery systems and aviation platforms, with performance, cost, mass, scalability and manufacturability evaluated under application- and market-relevant conditions. Development followed a strict, criteria-based stop/go framework. Results included, among others, a polymer-based lithium battery with an energy density of over 400 Wh/kg and a process for aqueous electrode processing. The website serves exclusively as an archival reference and does not represent an operating company, commercial products or active services.
