About us
Swiss Composites & Powertrain GmbH (SCP), based in Bülach near Zurich, is a Swiss company for drive and plastics engineering. The company manufactures fiber-reinforced plastic composite components from GFRP and CFRP — as laminates as well as wound tubes and casings with component diameters of 20 to 150 mm — and develops, among other things, carbon drive shafts (Carbon Fiber Shaft) as a lightweight alternative to steel drive shafts. Further core areas are custom polyurethane molded parts, silicone molded parts with vulcanization in temperature-controlled steel molds under pressure, joining technology (bonding) for metal-plastic joints, and foam packaging made from Flexathen, Ethafoam and ESD foams for transport protection and case inserts. In addition to series production of small and medium series, development and prototype construction are part of the core business: molds are milled from 3-D data, produced by 3D printing or by molding. Customers come from the chemical, medical and food industries, mechanical engineering, the automotive and railway industries, and motorsport. Since May 2024, the company has been certified to ISO 9001:2015.

Materials & Processes
GFRP (glass-fiber-reinforced plastic)
Cost-effective fiber-reinforced plastic composite with high elongation at break, corrosion resistance and electrical insulation properties for industry and automotive.
CFRP (carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic)
Approximately 50% lighter than steel and 30% lighter than aluminum, used among other things for carbon drive shafts.
Glass fiber / GFRP rovings
Reinforcing fiber for wound tubes and casings in winding technology.
Carbon fiber / CFRP rovings
Reinforcing fiber for high-performance components in winding technology.
Synthetic resin (resin systems)
Determines the chemical resistance and temperature behavior of the fiber composite material.
Polyurethane (PU)
Material for custom polyurethane molded parts.
Silicone rubber
Cures in temperature-controlled steel molds under pressure, for chemical, medical, food and automotive applications.
Flexathen / Ethafoam / ESD foams
Foams for transport protection packaging and inserts for plastic and aluminum cases.
