About Swiss Excellence Airplanes
Swiss Excellence Airplanes (SEA) is a Swiss aircraft manufacturer founded in 2014 by Alberto Porto, headquartered in Lugano. Production takes place in Pavullo nel Frignano in northern Italy, near Pavullo Airport. The company developed the Risen ultralight sport aircraft platform in 2012, whose prototype was presented in 2015 at AERO Friedrichshafen; series production began in mid-2015. The portfolio comprises two aircraft types: the Swiss Excellence Risen with retractable landing gear and the Swiss Excellence Siren with fixed landing gear. SEA emerged from the consulting firm Porto Ricerca, which specializes in flow dynamics and fine optimization in engineering design and advises manufacturers of aircraft, sports cars and sailing yachts. In 2016, CEO Alberto Porto received the De la Vaulx Medal of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale for an absolute speed record in category R set with the Risen, as well as the Oscar of the Italian VFR magazine.
