About Swiss Steel Group
Swiss Steel Group, headquartered in Lucerne, is one of the largest producers of electric steel in Europe and a provider of customized solutions in special steel long products. The portfolio comprises engineering steel, stainless steel and tool steel; the product range extends from drawn wire with a 0.013 mm diameter up to forged bars with a 1,100 mm diameter. Production takes place via the electric steel process in six electric arc furnaces at 17 production sites, supplemented by remelting facilities (ESR/vacuum), rolling mills, forges, heat treatment as well as machining, sawing and grinding through to the finished component. With its Green Steel program (approx. 92% recycled scrap, approx. 83% electricity from low-emission sources, approx. 85% lower CO2 footprint), the stock-listed group is committed to the circular economy. Via more than 60 sales and service locations in over 25 countries, the group serves more than 18,500 customers from industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, medical technology and toolmaking with around 7,000 employees – from technical consulting and cutting to just-in-time delivery.

Quality & Certifications
Quality assurance extends from scrap and alloy selection through melting and casting processes to internal, surface, dimensional and identity inspections in rolling mills, forge and drawing lines as well as mechanical-technological testing. Accredited testing laboratories (ISO 17025) perform chemical analysis, mechanical testing, metallography and non-destructive testing (eddy current, ultrasonic) and are also available to external customers; special processes for aerospace are accredited under Nadcap.
