About SYNTHON Chemicals
SYNTHON Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG is an owner-managed, ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of specialty and fine chemicals based in the Bitterfeld-Wolfen chemical park (Area A). The company produces liquid crystals, reactive mesogens and LC polymers for electro-optical displays, dyes and fluorescent dyes, materials for organic electronics, photoinitiators, heterocycles, crown ethers, calixarenes, isocyanides, metallocenes and pharmaceutical intermediates. In addition to its own product portfolio, SYNTHON offers contract syntheses and toll manufacturing in quantities from a few grams to about 100 kg – including synthesis development, process development with upscaling, purification, formulation, filling, analytics and raw material procurement. Production takes place in kilo laboratories and a pilot plant with multipurpose systems made of glass, enameled steel and Hastelloy (25–150 l, total reactor volume 600 l, -30 to +200 °C); yellow light laboratories enable the processing of UV-sensitive products. Customers include companies from electronics, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical technology, dental, adhesives, display technology and security. The company has been based at the site since 1994 and has 2000 m² of usable space for production, laboratories, warehousing and offices.
