T+A elektroakustik GmbH & Co. KG (Theory and Application in Audio Technology) is a family-owned company founded in 1978 and headquartered in Herford, which develops and produces high-end hi-fi components. The product range includes amplifiers, music players, streaming and converter devices, CD/SACD drives, loudspeakers, headphones and accessories. All devices are developed at the company's Herford headquarters — from design through PCB development to the software code. Production is carried out as craft-style manufacturing: in small teams, specialists assemble and inspect each workpiece by hand instead of relying on assembly-line production. Exterior housings are made exclusively of aluminium, steel or wood; housing parts and drive mechanisms are milled in-house from solid aluminium. Products are distributed worldwide via qualified specialist retailers; a service department with seven service technicians also repairs older devices.
