About Tadiran Batteries GmbH
Tadiran Batteries GmbH, based in Büdingen, develops, produces and sells lithium industrial batteries. The portfolio comprises primary batteries based on the lithium-thionyl chloride system (LTC), the PulsesPlus technology for high current pulses, the High-Power TLM series (Lithium Metal Oxide) as well as the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries of the TLI series. The products are characterized by high energy density (up to 650 Wh/kg), a wide temperature range (−55 °C to +125 °C depending on series), low self-discharge and a maintenance-free operating life of up to 20 years and more. The batteries are used, among other things, in meters (utility metering), IoT sensors, tracking systems such as electronic toll collection, automotive eCall systems, medical technology, alarm and security systems as well as in industrial automation. The company was founded in 1984 as a joint venture between Tadiran and Sonnenschein and employs around 120 staff. With a worldwide distributor network in over 45 countries, Tadiran Batteries also offers technical consulting, design-in support and application calculations. As a subsidiary of Tadiran Batteries Ltd., the company is part of the Saft Group.

Battery technologies and chemical systems
Lithium-thionyl chloride (LiSOCl2)
Primary battery with the highest energy density (up to 650 Wh/kg) for long-term standalone applications such as meters and IoT sensors.
PulsesPlus (LiSOCl2 with HLC capacitor)
Combines high energy density with high current pulses, e.g. for GSM communication modules and defibrillators.
Lithium Metal Oxide
High-power battery for applications with high discharge after long storage, e.g. eCall emergency call systems.
Lithium-ion (rechargeable)
Industrial rechargeable battery series for long-term use in harsh environments, including medical devices.
Lithium (metal)
Anode material of the lithium-thionyl chloride system with a high cell voltage of 3.6 V.
