About Tailorlux
Tailorlux was founded in 2009 as a spin-off of Münster University of Applied Sciences and develops photonics-based solutions for material marking and verification. The company integrates invisible optical markers into fibers, polymers, coatings, packaging and products, which can be detected non-destructively on site using VIS and NIR spectroscopy. The mobile measuring system Tailor-Scan® 4 records spectra in the range of 500–1060 nm (VIS) and 960–1950 nm (NIR) at up to 50 scans per second. Markers, sensor technology and evaluation are integrated as a complete system into existing industrial processes; the digital verification reports can be connected to Digital Product Passports, ERP systems and Digital Twins. Fields of application include polymers, textiles, coatings, protection, recycling as well as ID and document security. Named partners include Indorama, Eurofins, Merck, Avient, GRAFE, Rowasol, Leonhard Kurz and MTrust. The interdisciplinary team in Münster covers chemistry, photonics and software.

Materials & Processes
Polymers
Markers are integrated into polymers, e.g. for product protection and recyclate verification.
Fibers
Invisible optical fingerprints are embedded as part of the material in fibers.
Coatings
Markings in coatings enable non-destructive verification directly on the component or product.
Packaging
Markers in packaging serve authentication and traceability.
