About TauberEnergie Kuhn
TauberEnergie Kuhn is a family-run energy supplier based in Bad Mergentheim-Markelsheim in the Tauber Valley. The company distributes electricity from 100 % hydropower as well as natural gas and eco-gas and, as grid operator, operates the electricity grid in the Markelsheim district. Its roots go back to 1852, when Johann Kuhn took over a hydropower-driven grain and oil mill; since 1898 the company has supplied the municipality of Markelsheim with electricity. The entire range of services – from customer switching to meter reading and move notifications through to billing – is offered in-house. The company operates its own hydropower plants, among others in Markelsheim and Weikersheim, and additionally sources TÜV-certified green electricity from the VERBUND power plant Aschach. Since 2015, the fourth generation, Karl and Andreas Kuhn, has been running the company as an OHG.
