About TC Tungsten Compounds
TC Tungsten Compounds GmbH is a family-owned specialty chemicals manufacturer based in the Zeickhorn district of Grub (Grub am Forst, Upper Franconia). For around 25 years, the company has been developing and producing sodium polytungstate (SPT, also sodium metatungstate), an aqueous, non-toxic heavy liquid for sink-float analysis and density separation of solids. The portfolio includes powders, granules and ready-to-use solutions (SPT-0 to SPT-5, LVP-1, LVP-3, AMT-3) with densities up to 3.0 g/cm³ as well as a tungsten carbide suspension (SPT-4) up to 4.6 g/cm³. As a former patent holder, the company also offers reprocessing and free recycling of used SPT solutions. Around 900 customers in more than 95 countries are supplied, including universities and research institutions as well as the glass, plastics, recycling, coal and mining industries. Since 2024 the company has been certified to ISO 9001:2015.
