About TRC-Separation
The Teaching and Research Center for Separation (TRC-Separation) is not an industrial manufacturing operation but a teaching and research center at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Duisburg-Essen. The working group Applied Analytical Chemistry has existed since 2012 and is headed by Prof. Dr. Oliver J. Schmitz. Areas of work include multidimensional chromatography (LCxLC, GCxGC), mass spectrometry, development of new ion sources, ion mobility mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis, speciation analysis as well as metabolomics and lipidomics. The center offers research services for the analysis of complex samples and conducts courses and training in separation science and analytical chemistry. It is located on the university campus in Essen.
