About Tecnomec SA
Founded in 1981, Tecnomec SA is a precision mechanics company based in Stabio in the Swiss canton of Ticino. The company manufactures mechanical components across a broad spectrum of machining processes: 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC milling, CNC turning of turned parts up to 3000 mm in length, cylindrical and surface grinding, jig grinding, fine boring on jig boring machines, as well as wire EDM and microdrilling with hole diameters from 0.20 mm. The offering is complemented by 3D printing for prototyping and deep-freeze storage at -86 to -40 °C. The continuously modernized machine fleet includes, among others, 5-axis machining centers with pallet changer and travelling-column milling machines with 3600 mm X travel. The quality system is certified to EN 9100 (aerospace and defense) and ISO 9001 (industry); a climate-controlled measuring room with two Zeiss coordinate measuring machines ensures dimensional inspection and calibration of measuring equipment. In 2022, Tecnomec won first place in the Prix SVC Svizzera italiana.

Milling including 5-axis mill-turn machining with component dimensions up to 3600 × 1100 × 900 mm.
CNC turning
Turning with and without driven tools, including vertical turning centers, up to 3000 mm turning length.
Cylindrical grinding
Cylindrical grinding with center heights up to 175 mm and grinding diameters up to 350 mm.
Surface grinding (tangential)
Surface grinding up to 2250 × 910 × 600 mm with load capacity up to 3900 kg.
Jig grinding
Jig grinding up to 650 × 450 × 140 mm for highly precise surfaces and profiles.
Fine boring / jig boring
Jig boring machines (including 4× SIP Hydroptic 6A) for holes with the tightest tolerances.
Wire EDM
Wire EDM up to 800 × 550 × 525 mm as well as start-hole EDM with Ø 0.20–3.00 mm.
3D printing (prototyping)
FDM printing with a build volume of 330 × 240 × 300 mm for prototypes.
Deep-freeze treatment
Hyperfreezer storage at -86 to -40 °C.

Quality
The production process is monitored in all phases through intermediate and final inspections. The climate-controlled measuring room is equipped with two Zeiss CMMs (ACCURA, up to 1200 × 2400 × 1000 mm, scanning accuracy 0.0002 mm); in addition, measuring equipment is calibrated.
