About Teijin Limited

Teijin Limited was founded in 1918 in Japan and is today a diversified technology group with around 15,689 employees and 126 group companies (as of 31.03.2026). The business is divided into two fields: Materials (Aramid, Carbon Fibers, Composites, Resin & Plastic Processing, Battery & Semiconductor Solutions, Fibers & Products Converting) and Healthcare (Pharmaceuticals, Home Therapy, Functional Foods). In the Materials field, high-performance materials such as para- and meta-aramid (Technora®, Twaron®, Teijinconex®), carbon fibers (Tenax), polycarbonate resin (Panlite®) and the fully recyclable carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic material Sereebo® are developed and produced. At the Matsuyama Factory, Teijin has been operating the world's first pilot plant for continuous CFRTP mass production since 2012 with a cycle time of around one minute; Sereebo® is used for the first time in large-scale series production for structural parts in the GMC Sierra. In addition, the group manufactures flame-retardant SMC battery housings for electric vehicles, high-precision membranes (miraim®) and separators for lithium-ion batteries (Lielsort®). Revenue in the fiscal year ending March 2026 was around 873.2 billion yen, more than half of which outside Japan. Headquarters are located in Tokyo and Osaka.
