About Temposonics
Temposonics specializes in magnetostriction technology and develops highly precise linear position sensors as well as level transmitters for accurate and dynamic position and velocity measurements in automation and safety-critical systems. At the core of every sensor is a ferromagnetic waveguide that is developed and manufactured in-house, enabling contactless, wear-free measurement without recalibration. The portfolio comprises four segments: industrial sensors (measuring range 25–20,000 mm), mobile hydraulics sensors (50–10,500 mm), Light Industrial sensors for OEM high-volume production, and Level Plus level sensors with system accuracy of ±0.5 mm. The sensors are made of, among other materials, stainless steel 1.4306 (sensor tube) and 1.4305 (housing) as well as aluminium. Fields of application include manufacturing automation, metal, plastics, wood and paper processing, wind power, agricultural machinery, construction and mining machinery, medical technology as well as oil, gas, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Production takes place in Lüdenscheid and Dortmund (Germany) as well as in Cary, NC (USA); worldwide, the company, which belongs to the Amphenol Corporation, employs more than 500 people.
