About Teragon
Teragon is an Austrian technology company based in Graz that develops optical laser measurement systems for steel rolling mills. The portfolio includes contactless profile and dimensional measurement (ORION), combined profile and surface inspection (OSIRIS), flatness measurement (FMG/FMGS) and twist measurement (TMG) for hot- and cold-rolled long products such as rails, bars, reinforcing steel and beams. The systems use laser light-section technology and capture measurement cross-sections in real time at product temperatures up to 1.150 °C without interrupting the rolling process. Each cross-section is evaluated against customer-specific reference data; for non-standard geometries, reference profiles from CAD drawings are integrated into the measurement software. In addition, Teragon licenses CALIPRI systems from its partner Hexagon | CALIPRI and offers service and lifecycle support. With over 30 years of industry experience in its product portfolio and more than 70 installations worldwide, the company serves the steel industry, rolling mills and automation technology.
