About Terrazzo Hess
Terrazzo Hess GmbH in Sankt Wendel is a craft business for the production of traditional rolled terrazzo and for heritage-compliant restoration of historical terrazzo floors. The company manufactures terrazzo floors, terrazzo staircases and steps, terrazzo washbasins, kitchen worktops and cast stone slabs, including replicas of historical collections such as the 1920 Weissenhof slabs. The terrazzi are produced in the Venetian tradition in compliance with German DIN standards; the binder is Portland cement per DIN EN 197-1, and the aggregates include marble, granite, glass, glass beads, mineral aggregate and crushed brick. Surface treatment comprises grinding with diamond segments, filling, fine grinding and polishing to a high gloss, as well as crystallisation and impregnation. In addition to floors, the company creates marble mosaic work and art-in-architecture projects, such as the terrazzo artwork for the Josef-Rehrl-Schule in Salzburg. Work is carried out in Saarland, Luxembourg and Switzerland and beyond.
