About the Textilfabrik 7.0 Project

Textilfabrik 7.0 (T7) is a publicly funded joint project led by the Research Institute for Textile and Clothing at Hochschule Niederrhein, together with the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA) of RWTH Aachen, the associations of the North-West and Rhenish textile and clothing industry, the Textile Academy NRW, as well as EWMG and WFMG. The aim is to develop CO₂-neutral, circular and economically viable textile production. In the first phase, a textile technology and development center will be established from October 2025 in the Monforts Quartier in Mönchengladbach with the four modules On-Demand Manufacturing, Micro Factory Engineering, Digital Textiles and Biosphere. Offered services include design and engineering services, R&D support, the transfer of research into industry, and access to expertise and technical facilities. In a second phase, the T7 Park, an emission-free, digitalized industrial park, is planned.
