About ThermoCube
ThermoCube is developing a low-cost storage system for thermal energy. The system stores heat in plastic containers that hang from a metal carrier inside a cube-shaped storage body; the water in the containers is not mixed. Charging is carried out via valves and a Smart Control unit that charges specifically when electricity prices or temperatures are favourable. According to the company, the system costs less than comparable market products and enables short charging times. The startup was founded in 2024, is staffed by three employees (Gerhard, Roland, Thomas), has been granted an EU patent and has completed a prototype. Component manufacturing is outsourced; assembly, integration and sales are carried out in-house. Target industries are thermal solar systems and combined heat and power (CHP) units, industrial waste heat, agriculture, cold tanks, heating networks, buildings and cooling networks.
