Sealing technology with tradition since 1878
thoenes® Dichtungstechnik GmbH, founded in 1878, is a family-run company based in Klipphausen near Dresden that develops and produces sealing solutions, filtration solutions and lightweight components for static and dynamic applications. The portfolio includes flat and flange gaskets (among others made of PTFE, graphite, mica, EPDM, NBR, aramid and fiber sheet material) in DIN and EU standard sizes as well as made-to-measure drawing-based parts, and also spiral wound, camprofile, mechanical seal and corrugated ring gaskets, gland packing, sealing and insulation cords, hoses, tapes and braids. Manufacturing processes include cutting and die-cutting/punching, braiding and knitting technology, wrapping/twisting, coating, sensor integration as well as 3D printing in the FFF/FDM process (Raise3D N2, Markforged MarkTwo). In the field of filtration, fine knitted fabrics, filters and mufflers are assembled on multimaterial knitting machines and in a robot-assisted manufacturing cell. For lightweight construction, the company produces continuous-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic hollow profiles and textile reinforcement stirrups made of PA6, PP, carbon and glass fibers. Customers include companies from power plant and energy technology, chemical plant engineering, furnace and chimney construction, plumbing and heat pumps, mobility, special machinery construction, agricultural technology and hydrogen technology.
