Thüringer Heli Charter (THC) is a family business from the district of Sömmerda near Erfurt and is licensed as an aviation company and flight school by the Thuringian State Aviation Authority. The company offers helicopter sightseeing flights for events such as corporate events, village and town festivals as well as open days. In addition, THC trains helicopter pilots, including in particular type conversions of fixed-wing aircraft pilots to helicopters; the training takes place mostly from Sömmerda airfield. Owner Wolfgang Friedt, a Cologne native and former head of the Thuringian police aviation squadron, runs the company as a privately managed one-man ATO.
