TOBY Schaum GmbH is a company founded in 1960, specialising in polyurethane (PUR) processing and headquartered in Merdingen near Freiburg im Breisgau. The company produces foam-moulded parts in four main categories: flexible foam, integral semi-rigid foam, rigid integral foam and compact foam, manufactured in RIM technology (Reaction Injection Moulding). The range covers prototypes as 3D prints or PU castings, series production and spare-part manufacturing across the entire product life cycle. In addition, TobySchaum offers IMC painting (In-Mould-Coating) directly in the mould – a cost- and resource-efficient alternative to external painting. The parts can be realised, among other things, as biocompatible, antimicrobial or flame-retardant (e.g. to UL94). Customers can be found in medical/rehab, sports and leisure, mechanical engineering, construction, the commercial vehicle industry and Oil & Gas. The QMS has been certified to ISO 9001 since 1996; since 2024 the company has been a member of the VEA initiative Climate-Friendly SMEs.

Polyurethane (PUR)
Versatile polymer with a Shore hardness of approx. 10 Shore 00 to 67 Shore D, lighter than injection moulding at the same volume.
Flexible foam
Flexible, insulating and lightweight (density < 100 kg/m³), e.g. for padding and body-contact surfaces.
Integral semi-rigid foam
Density 100–900 kg/m³, stable, insulating and durable, for cladding parts and functional parts.
Rigid integral foam
Density 50–1,100 kg/m³, high dimensional stability and strength without water absorption.
Compact foam
Mould variant for parts without a foam core, with a homogeneous structure.
IMC painting (In-Mould-Coating)
Painting directly in the mould as a resource-efficient alternative to external painting.
