About Töpferei Burgstall
Töpferei Burgstall is a ceramics workshop in Burgstall in the district of Kronach, run by master ceramicist Edith Memmel. The workshop produces traditional and modern tableware such as beakers, mugs, bowls, plates, jugs, teapots, jars, egg cups and vases, as well as children's tableware and small ceramics such as drawer knobs. Established ceramic techniques are combined with newly developed glazes and engobes. Sales take place via the workshop's own shop, an online store, and events such as the annual artisans' market. In addition to production, the pottery offers workshops and events. A second craft business is located in Sassnitz on the island of Rügen. For the successful combination of craftsmanship and heritage preservation, Edith Memmel received, among other things, the Bavarian Heimat Prize.
