About Torrecid

Torrecid was founded on 15 August 1963 by Don Federico Michavila Pallarés in Alcora (province of Castellón, Spain) – initially in a 392 m² plant with 8 employees and an annual production of 800 tonnes of frits and glazes. Today, the family-owned company with the legal status of an S.A. develops and produces products, services and solutions for the ceramics industry and other sectors: frits, glazes, digital inks (including water-based and low-emission inks such as 2LOWINK CID and ECOINK CID), pigments such as the black pigment R BLACK, which is recognisable by recycling facilities, as well as solutions for ventilated facades. Frit production takes place in melting furnaces; an AI project with Solver Machine Learning for real-time quality prediction of frits is funded with EUR 42,639 by the Regional Government of Valencia and NextGeneration EU. With subsidiaries in 29 countries, Torrecid supplies customers in more than 150 countries and positions itself as a Family & Green Company with a focus on innovation, trend consulting (STYLECID) and sustainability.
