About Trailer Dynamics
Trailer Dynamics GmbH is a technology company founded in 2018 in Eschweiler that develops the eTrailer – a semi-trailer with an integrated battery-electric drivetrain. The middle axle is replaced by an electrified eAxle with two electric motors that support the primary drive of the tractor unit in real time. Energy is supplied by a modular lithium iron phosphate-based traction battery system with selectable capacities of 187, 367 or 551 kWh, chargeable via DC infrastructure at up to 350 kW. A sensory control unit detects the forces at the kingpin and controls the eAxle in a functionally safe manner. In combination with diesel tractors, the eTrailer reduces fuel consumption by an average of 40 %; as a range extender with battery-electric tractors, it increases the range to over 800 km. The company employs around 100 engineers, software developers and specialist experts and serves industries such as road freight transport, logistics and freight forwarding. Product variants include Box, Curtainsider, Cool and Mega eTrailers.
