Trautwein Fahrzeugbau GmbH is a medium-sized vehicle manufacturing company based in Benningen in the Bavarian Allgäu region. The company manufactures and repairs special vehicles and vehicle bodies of all kinds, including garage transport vehicles up to 52 t gross weight, crane bodies, tandem trailers for in-house timber transport, sliding covers for low-loaders and hydraulic tipper bodies. In the Airport Technology business division, Trautwein develops and builds recovery dollies for aircraft up to 5 t wheel load. In addition, portable fire pump trailers (TSA) and crew transport vehicles (MTW) for fire brigades are produced. Manufacturing includes design, new fabrication in the workshop and assembly in steel construction; since 2011/2015 the machining division has been expanded with its own hall and CNC milling machines and is also offered as a service. A repair and spare parts service, hydraulics, hose and crane service, as well as the maintenance of side loaders (including Klaus equipment) round out the range of services. Customers come from agriculture and forestry, fire services, airport technology and general vehicle manufacturing.
