About Treibacher Industrie AG

Treibacher Industrie AG, headquartered in Althofen-Treibach in Carinthia, is a manufacturer of chemical and metallurgical precursors for industrial applications. The company produces ferrovanadium, ferromolybdenum and ferro-nickel-molybdenum for the steel and foundry industry, hard material powders based on tungsten carbide as well as tungsten metal powders for the cemented carbide and semi-finished products industry. Further focal points are high-performance ceramic materials based on rare earths, yttrium oxide and zirconium oxide, hydrogen storage alloys based on titanium-manganese (AB2), flint stones made of cerium-iron alloy as well as fine chemicals for pharmaceutical and catalyst applications. In the recycling sector, since 1978 valuable-material-containing catalysts and metal-containing residues have been processed into alloys and additives for the steel industry. Feedstock materials include rare earths, tungsten and tantalum oxide, molybdenum as well as vanadium-containing steel mill slags. Founded in 1898 by Carl Auer von Welsbach, the company employs around 900 staff, achieved revenue of 637 million euros in 2023 and sells about 80 percent of its products abroad.
