About us

Trenkle Uhren GmbH is a family business founded in 1966 by Herbert Trenkle in Simonswald in the Elztal valley, which has been manufacturing Black Forest clocks for over 60 years. The product range includes mechanical cuckoo clocks with 1-day and 8-day chain-driven movements, battery-operated quartz cuckoo clocks, miniature clocks, weather houses as well as modern clock collections such as KuckuShine, KuckuFrame, ExS-Line, Color-Edition and Effect-Line. Almost all components – including cases, wooden dials, hands, weights, figurines and the mechanical 1-day spring-driven movements – are produced in the company's own workshop in the Black Forest. Manufacturing includes wood carving, hand painting, 4-color digital printing on wooden shield clocks, felt and velour fabric embroidery, and assembly. From certain order quantities, the clockmakers produce customized promotional items with customer graphics and CI colors; high-quality gift packaging made from FSC-certified cardboard is also part of the offering. Customers include wholesale and specialist retailers in the region, in Germany, Europe and worldwide; retailers exist in 15 countries, among others.
