About Tridelta Meidensha

Tridelta Meidensha GmbH, headquartered in Hermsdorf (Thuringia), has been producing surge arresters since 1960 and has been wholly owned by Japan's Meidensha Corporation since 2015. The product portfolio includes metal-oxide surge arresters (MOSA) for system voltages from 1 to 800 kV: high-voltage arresters in porcelain and silicone housings (SBKC Cage Design, SBKT Tube Design), medium-voltage arresters up to 60 kV, DC arresters up to 4.8 kV for railway applications, and line arresters (NGLA). This is complemented by monitoring devices such as the DCC-series discharge counters and the intelligent monitoring device smartCOUNT, as well as custom arrester solutions from the company's own development department. The metal-oxide blocks (ZnO varistors), the core component, are manufactured at the R&D center of parent company Meidensha, which as a pioneer developed the world's first metal-oxide surge arrester in 1975. Type tests in accordance with IEC 60099-4 can be performed in the modern high-voltage laboratory in Hermsdorf. The arresters are in service in over 120 countries, including in substations, rail vehicles and overhead lines.
