About Trinseo
Trinseo is a provider of specialty materials and plastic solutions with German locations in Schkopau, Stade and Rheinmünster as well as a sales office in Eschborn. In Schkopau, the plant commissioned in 1999 produces polystyrene: crystal-clear PS via homopolymerization of styrene and high-impact PS (HIPS) via graft polymerization of styrene onto polybutadiene. The plant company has been producing polycarbonate (brand CALIBRE) at the Stade site since 1990, with around 120 specialized products in polymerization and compounding. In Rheinmünster, acrylate and styrene-butadiene latexes are produced for paper, building materials, packaging and carpet backing; the global latex research center (Global Innovation Center) is also located there. The materials are used in packaging, construction, medical technology, consumer electronics and mobility. The Trinseo S.A. group, headquartered in Luxembourg, achieved net sales of approximately 3 billion US dollars in 2025 with around 2,800 employees worldwide.
