About Trompetter Guss
Trompetter Guss Bindlach is a family-run foundry founded in 1946 in Bindlach near Bayreuth. The company produces high-quality cast iron components in grey cast iron with lamellar graphite (grey cast iron) and spheroidal graphite cast iron (ductile iron) on two machine-moulded moulding lines, in small to medium-sized series with component weights of approximately 1 to 300 kg. The value chain includes induction melting, core making, moulding as well as, upon customer request, machining and surface treatment of the castings. Customers come from general mechanical and plant engineering, drive technology, pump and compressor construction, hydraulics, automotive and agricultural machinery engineering, as well as shipbuilding. Annual capacity is around 8,000 t of cast iron.

Materials & Processes
Grey cast iron with lamellar graphite (grey cast iron)
Grey cast iron in grades EN-GJL-150 to EN-GJL-350 for mechanical engineering, drive technology and pump construction.
Spheroidal graphite cast iron (ductile iron)
Ductile iron in grades EN-GJS-400 to EN-GJS-600-3, among other things for highly stressed housings and lifting elements.
SiMo-alloyed ductile iron
Temperature-resistant special material, used e.g. for engine brake housings.
Grey cast iron, bainitic/hardness-specified
Hardness-specified grey cast iron for wear-stressed components such as gearbox housings.
Casting materials according to DNV classification rules
Approved grey cast iron and ductile iron grades for shipbuilding components in accordance with DNV-CP-0249.
Machine-moulded sand casting
High-pressure compaction and multistation moulding lines for small to medium-sized series.
