About Tube Mill Control
Tube Mill Control GmbH (TMC), based in Halle (Saale), manufactures the ThermoProfileScanner (TPS), a system for 100% inline monitoring of weld seams on tube and profile welding lines. The system uses passive infrared thermography to detect cold defects such as cold weld spots, pores, penetration problems and process drift in real time. The TPS supports more than ten welding processes, including TIG, plasma, HFI/ERW/HFW, resistance butt welding, laser, MAG and MIG, and handles materials such as steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze, titanium, nickel and other metal alloys. The systems cover pipe diameters from 1.5 to 1000 mm, wall thicknesses from 0.05 to 20 mm, seam widths up to 25 mm and welding speeds up to 200 m/min and are designed for direct integration into production lines. The company emerged from the ThermoProfileScanner business unit of HKS Prozesstechnik GmbH, which was transferred to the newly founded Tube Mill Control GmbH as of 1 January 2026. Via a partner network, more than 300 installations are represented in over 30 countries; TMC additionally offers commissioning, remote diagnostics, calibration, maintenance and training.
