The brand emerged from the vision of its founders Richard von Wittgenstein-Talbot and Thomas Greiter to bring the cinema experience into people's homes using digital technology, and it took a leading role in the scaling and optimization of PAL video signals. Since the brand was taken over by tvd in 2007, the focus has been on expanding the home entertainment range as well as on industrial AV solutions for POS/POI, 3D projection and conference and media technology. Customers include, among others, the housing company Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Berlin-Mitte mbH (WBM), for which NEC monitors were replaced in 2012 by cinemateq 55" displays of the Professional-L Public Monitor series.
