UFI Schleiftechnik GmbH & Co. KG has specialised since 2002 in the development and manufacture of sanding and polishing backing pads (back-pads). The product portfolio includes eccentric pads in all sizes and degrees of hardness, rotary backing pads, interface pads, backing plates for orbital sanders and industrial systems, as well as hand sanding blocks and special solutions made of PU foam and plastic. Production is carried out in small and large series for abrasive manufacturers, machine manufacturers, manufacturers of robots and automated machinery, as well as national and international trading companies, predominantly as private-label manufacturing. The value chain includes prototyping, 3D printing of plastic prototypes, in-house production of PU foaming tools (PU prototypes in 3–4 weeks), plasma treatment of surfaces to improve adhesion, and assembly with screws and threaded inserts for common machines. Products are usually created in close cooperation with customers, based on in-house designs, customer files, or a basic modular kit. Company headquarters and production are located in Nehmten in Schleswig-Holstein.
