About Us
ULTRAMATIC AG in Winterthur specialises in counting, weighing and packaging machines as well as processing machines for fruit, vegetables, lettuce, cheese and meat. The company focuses on consulting, planning and sales of turnkey systems and individual machines, and exclusively distributes products of renowned foreign manufacturers such as Yamato Scale, TopControl, ROVEMA, Affeldt, Tramper Technology, Groba, Sormac, HEPRO, Nilma and Furukawa Old Rivers in Switzerland. In-house production has been largely discontinued; instead, a close, long-standing collaboration with sub-suppliers ensures the quality and functionality of the systems delivered. The scope of services includes assembly, commissioning, customer training, production support, overhauls and repairs as well as a comprehensive spare parts service. Several service technicians available at short notice serve customers throughout Switzerland, supported by a large spare parts warehouse and an in-house workshop with test systems. Customers come from the fruit and vegetable sector, the cheese industry, large-scale kitchens, catering, and food and non-food packaging.

History
- 1929
Gottlieb Plüss founds a mechanical workshop in Winterthur-Wülflingen for the manufacture of hair-picking machines for horsehair.
- 1941
Paul Ketterer takes over the further development of the company as foreman and builds up the export business after the war.
- 1956
Ketterer runs the company on his own account and develops a new design of mechanical scales for the pre-packaging of fruit and vegetables.
- 1962
Relocation to a new purpose-built building in Winterthur-Wülflingen.
- 1964
H. Kessler joins the company and takes over sales and commercial management.
- 1972
H. Kessler succeeds P. Ketterer as owner; the company is renamed ULTRA Maschinenbau, H. Kessler & Co.

Conversion from mechanical to electronic scales; production and distribution of mixed salad systems with patented machines.
