About UnionStahl Nord
UnionStahl Nord GmbH was founded in Bremen in 2010 and is a service center for heavy plate and shipbuilding steel. The company maintains a stock of around 60,000 t of heavy plate and shipbuilding steel and is one of the few full-range suppliers in this segment in Europe. In its own flame-cutting operation, cut-to-size pieces are produced to customer-specific fixed dimensions using oxy-fuel, plasma and laser cutting systems, with dimensions up to 4,000 mm in width and 16,000 mm in length. In addition, UnionStahl Nord offers further processing services such as milling, drilling, edging, rolling and welding, so that customers can obtain ready-to-install components directly. The product range includes structural steels, high-strength and wear-resistant steels (HB 400 to HB 600, manganese hard steel 1.3401), offshore and shipbuilding steels, heat-resistant steels as well as plates for line pipes according to ISO 3183. Customer industries include crane construction, agricultural and construction machinery, mining, tank and apparatus engineering, structural steelwork, wind energy, offshore/shipbuilding, rail technology, pipeline construction, mechanical engineering and toolmaking. Locations are Bremen (headquarters and certification site Hemelinger Hafendamm) and Isernhagen.

UnionStahl Nord is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV NORD CERT, scope: warehousing, further processing and distribution of steel products). Material testing includes ultrasonic testing (e.g. in accordance with EN 10160, SA435, SA578 performed by a certified Level 3 examiner), chemical and mechanical properties, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing; inspections are carried out by TÜV, DNV GL, LR, ABS, BV.
