About United Cast Bar
United Cast Bar (UCB) is part of the Proclad Group and produces continuous-cast iron under the Unibar brand. The group was formed in 1998 through the merger of Eurocast Bar Limited (UK), Starkey's Technicast Limited (UK) and Cast Profil SA (Spain). Production takes place at two foundries in Chesterfield (UK) and Villanueva de Gállego (Spain) with a capacity of over 80,000 t of Unibar cast iron per year and a permanent stock of 20,000 t. The product range comprises flake-graphite (GG) and spheroidal-graphite cast iron (GGG) in round, square and rectangular profiles as well as custom profiles; the standard cut length is 3080 mm. The programme is complemented by pre- and finish machining (cutting to length, turning, milling, peeling, boring to a depth of 1000 mm), in-house heat treatment furnaces in the UK, and the CNC machining division UCB Technometal in the Czech Republic. Customers include machinery and machine tool building, hydraulics and pneumatics, the automotive industry, pumps and compressors, and the glass, oil and gas, steel and paper industries.
