About UniverCell
UniverCell is an electrode and battery cell manufacturer based in Flintbek near Kiel that develops and produces lithium-ion electrodes and cells according to customer-specific formulations. The company operates a gigafactory with an available capacity of 1.5 GWh and an electrode coating system that produces up to 64,000 m² of electrodes per day – with coating speeds of up to 60 m/min, a maximum coating width of 750 mm and an 80 m long dryer with 12 zones. The portfolio includes custom-made electrode foils (anode and cathode), pouch cells in the 80 x 390 x 25 mm format, 21700 cylindrical cells in tabless design as well as button and prototype cells. UniverCell supports customers from laboratory scale through piloting to series production and operates its own formation and testing center for performance, cycle life and safety. The products are used in applications such as power tools, e-mobility, e-aviation, aerospace and medical technology.

Quality
Quality is ensured by inline basis weight determination (wet and dry), inline layer thickness measurement (Samespot measuring technology), camera-monitored defect detection and an in-house formation and testing center in which performance, cycle life and safety are tested. A QA process accompanies production from pilot run to series and at the same time protects customers' intellectual property.
