About Uniwise Media

Uniwise Media UG (haftungsbeschränkt), based in Gummersbach, operates the learning platform UNIDOG.de. On the platform, students can publish lecture notes, solutions, flashcards, term papers and summaries. Other students receive free access to the documents by offering a document of their own for exchange, or alternatively pay a fee between 50 cents and 5 euros. The publishing students receive a remuneration based on the number of downloads of their documents. Around 10,000 students of all disciplines use the platform; all major German universities are represented. The company emerged in 2009 from an EXIST business start-up grant and plans to use UNIWISE to create an e-learning platform that links university knowledge via key terms and fields of study and makes it accessible to non-students as well.
