About unixAG

The unixAG is an accredited university group of students from Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences at the Zweibrücken campus, dedicated to Linux and open source. With its own office (Room A204.2) and a data center, the group offers students the opportunity to further their education in the field of modern communication and information systems and to gain insight into the system administration of UNIX systems. Projects include a student web server that is also used for teaching and project work, the virtualization of servers on a high-availability cluster, and the operation of a firewall as the first line of defense for the network and the university. The group provides students with free PHP-capable web space (2 GB of storage, 4 databases with external access), offers LPI Essentials exams with preparation courses, personal support for Unix and PC systems, and an open Blender group for 3D modeling. Regular meetings take place every Wednesday at 16:30 in Room A204.2.
