About Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller
Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller is a family company headquartered in Luxembourg with its origins in Aretsried (Bavaria), where Ludwig Georg Müller founded a village dairy in 1896. The group processes milk into fresh dairy products, yoghurt, cheese, butter and dairy derivatives, produces fish delicatessen, dressings and sauces, fruit preparations, preformed plastic cups and bioethanol from whey molasses, as well as plant-based alternatives based on oats, soya and almonds. It controls almost the entire value chain under its own roof – from packaging production (Optipack, around 4 billion cups/year) and food production through to transport (Culina Group). Key production sites are Aretsried (approx. 1,300 employees across 7 companies), Leppersdorf near Dresden (over 1.7 million t of milk/year), Freising, Lintorf/Rogätz as well as plants in Poland, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. With 22 production sites in 13 countries, 35,000 employees and revenue of € 10.3 billion (2025), the company exports to more than 80 countries.
