About URBAN Forchach
Urban Maschinenbau GmbH in Forchach (Tyrol) was founded in 1982 as a supplier to its parent company Urban GmbH & Co. Maschinenbau KG from Memmingen. Around 80 to 110 employees work in metal processing at the site: highly precise milled parts are produced on CNC machining centres including long-part machining, welded constructions made of steel, sheet metal parts, aluminium cast parts and flame-cut parts. In addition, automatic rotary screwdrivers and components for profile machining centres of window production lines are manufactured. The depth of production ranges from the material warehouse via laser cutting, milling and welding to the paint shop and assembly. Around 80 to 90 percent of revenue comes from products and mechanical engineering components for the parent company in Memmingen, which manufactures high-end production lines for the PVC window industry. As part of a strategic realignment, the plant is now 100 percent focused on the window construction industry; the production of its own metal processing machines was discontinued, while service and spare parts supply for them continue.
