VAB Vakuum-Anlagenbau GmbH manufactures components and assemblies for ultrahigh vacuum technology. The portfolio includes UHV chambers as spherical, rectangular and cylindrical chambers (sphere diameter 20–2,000 mm, volume 2–2,000 liters, cylinder diameter 10–2,500 mm), including versions made of Mu-Metal and with water cooling. In addition, the company offers CF/COF flanges, ISO-KF and ISO-K components, feedthroughs, manipulators, cryostats, valves and UHV accessories. Services include heat treatment (vacuum annealing, low-hydrogen annealing) and surface treatment (glass bead blasting, brushed surfaces, electropolishing). Manufacturing is predominantly in stainless steel 1.4306 (304L), 1.4404 (316L) and 1.4429 (316LN) as well as aluminum; seals are made of Viton and Perbunan. Customers come mainly from ultrahigh vacuum technology, vacuum technology as well as research and physics.
