About VAD

Founded in 1963 by Richard Vad in Kleinostheim, VAD Beschichtungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG specializes in corrosion protection and plant engineering. Its core business is the pore-free coating of shell-and-tube heat exchanger surfaces with hot-curing epoxy systems, protected by two patents. In the early 1970s, apparatus manufacturing was brought in-house; since then, heat exchangers and apparatus have been manufactured not only from standard steel but also from stainless steel, pure nickel and Hastelloy. After investing in new CNC machines in 2007, the company was divided in 2018 into the divisions VAD Beschichtungstechnik (corrosion protection) and VAD Anlagenbau (apparatus, plant, machinery and tool engineering). Customers come primarily from refineries and the chemical and petrochemical industries; since 2017, closed-loop plant components have been produced in cooperation with Reitz Retrofit GmbH & Co. KG. The range of services includes design, CAD programming, simulation, welding technology, machining, coating, ventilation measurements and commissioning.

History

  1. 1963

Richard Vad founds VAD Beschichtungstechnik in Kleinostheim (corrosion protection of hot water boilers, tanks and heat exchangers with thermosetting epoxy coating systems).

  2. 1970s

Start of pore-free coating of shell-and-tube heat exchanger surfaces, protected by 2 patents; in-house apparatus manufacturing (machine purchase, welder qualification tests).

  3. New materials: stainless steel, pure nickel and Hastelloy in addition to standard steel.

  4. 2007

Decision to modernize the machinery, investment in new CNC machines.

  5. 2011

First closed-loop system manufactured and commissioned as a subcontractor for Reitz Retrofit GmbH & Co. KG in Leverkusen.

  6. 2017

Production of closed-loop plant components under its own name in cooperation with Reitz Retrofit GmbH & Co. KG.

  7. 2018

Restructuring into two divisions: VAD Beschichtungstechnik (corrosion protection) and the newly founded VAD Anlagenbau (apparatus, plant, machinery and tool engineering); extensive modernization of the infrastructure, new offices, new website.
