About Vagabond Vans
Vagabond Vans is a company from Bad Tölz founded in 2021 by master upholsterer Andreas Stricker that converts campervans according to individual customer requirements. Only Mercedes Sprinters are converted (up to approx. 6 m long, 2.90 m high), for which a cooperation with Mercedes-Benz has existed since 2023/2024. Every commission begins with a 3-D visualisation based on the customer's wishes and is then implemented in two workshop halls in the Farchet industrial area within around two months. High-quality materials are used, such as oak veneer from Austria, scratch-resistant HPL coating from Italy, loden wool, recycled acrylic (flooring, Bolon/Sweden), wool fabrics from Rohi in Bavaria, as well as stainless steel and Neolith high-tech surfaces. The service portfolio includes smart-home and lighting system integration, a multifunctional wet cell with stainless steel drain that can also be used as a drying room, and a sustainable material selection. Customers are adventurers, families and outdoor athletes; according to SZ, a converted Sprinter costs from around 180,000 euros.
