Van de Velde Packaging is a Belgian family business founded in 1939, run in its fourth generation, with headquarters in Wetteren and 19 branches across Europe. The group develops and produces packaging made of solid board, folding carton, microflute and corrugated board – from functional transport and food packaging to premium packaging with hot and cold foil embossing, varnishes, windows and die-cutting techniques. The value chain ranges from CAD/CAM design and prototyping through offset printing (up to seven colours per pass with IR/UV drying), die-cutting, gluing and folding to in-line labelling and co-packaging. Through the Van de Velde Systems division in Eerbeek (NL), the company also manufactures and supplies packaging machines such as cartoning machines, erectors, sleever machines and wrap-around machines as well as complete automated packaging lines. Customers come from the food (fruit/vegetables, meat/fish, dairy, confectionery), non-food, premium (cosmetics, tobacco, chocolate), beverages, retail and vending machine industries. The group is active in 17 European countries.

Colour management ensures that the print matches the press proof; colour proofs are approved before production start. GKB received the Nordic Swan Ecolabel (SWAN), PEFC and BDV certificates of the German Vending Machine Industry Association in 2024.

Company History
- 1939
Pieter Van de Velde founds 'Cartonnage P. Van de Velde' in Schellebelle (today Wetteren); production of cardboard boxes for local shoe and clothing manufacturers.
- 1963–1992
Son-in-law José Roman joins and takes over the management with his wife Jacqueline; in 1987 granddaughter Dominique strengthens the company, in 1992 her husband Philip does so.
- 2008
Wetteren site destroyed by fire; new construction of the headquarters with references to the company history.
- 2021
The Van de Velde Packaging Group counts 19 branches across Europe; fourth generation active in the company.
- 2024
GKB receives SWAN, PEFC and BDV certificates; first Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) according to CSRD completed with partner South Pole.
- 2026
Planned participation in Seafood Barcelona; strategic partnership with Industrias del Envase S.A. for the agri-business market in Peru.
