About Vanora AG

Vanora AG, based in Sempach Station (CH), is a Swiss binder manufacturer for the paint and coatings industry. The company develops and produces custom (by design) aqueous primary dispersions based on acrylate, VeoVa/acrylate, VeoVa/vinyl acetate and VeoVa/acrylate/vinyl acetate. Applications include dispersion, silicate and silicone resin paints, polymer, silicate and silicone resin renders, wood primer sealers, topcoats, clearcoats and wood stains as well as hydrophobing additives. With BXA.4281 and BXA.4291, VANORA offers dispersions whose carbon is 67% sourced from renewable raw materials. The company's roots go back to the 1950s; in 2015 VANORA was founded as an independent company. Products are distributed in Europe.

History

  1. 1950er

Dr. Marcel Ebnöther begins polymerizing binders for white glues; applications in the paint, coatings and construction industries are added.

  2. 1970er

Founding of Elotex AG, specialized in aqueous and powder dispersions.

  3. 1978

Elotex AG is integrated into the company Ebnöther AG.

  4. 1991

Sale of the Elotex powder activities to National Starch; aqueous binders remain under the name Enorex.

  5. 2001

Company renamed Collano AG; dispersions are sold under the name Collano.

  6. 2007

Change of generations; Stefan Leumann becomes the new CEO.

  7. 2009

Reorganization of the Collano Group with nolax AG, Collano Adhesives AG and Emerell AG; binder activities at nolax AG.

  8. 2010

Founding of the VANORA Business Unit to focus on the paint and coatings market.

  9. 2013

Collano Group steps into the background and creates room for development for three operationally independent companies.

  10. 2015

VANORA becomes an independent company (Vanora AG).
