About varista GmbH
varista GmbH, based in Unterthingau in the Allgäu region, has been developing and producing mounting systems for photovoltaic and solar thermal installations since 2007. The product range includes solutions for pitched roofs (tile, standing seam, trapezoidal, sandwich, membrane and slate roofs), flat-roof elevation systems such as Aero Rail Twice, ground-mounted systems (FA UNO, FA DUO, AgriPV), facade, carport and energy fence systems as well as custom metal replacement tiles made from 1 mm thick aluminium AlMg3 in any RAL colour. Materials used include aluminium as well as A2 stainless steel, brass, galvanized steel and plastics such as EPDM. The value chain includes planning and structural calculations using the pro.tool software, individual design of custom solutions, production at the company's own central warehouse with 2,000 storage slots, and project support including on-site installation. The core product is the varista mounting clip made of plastic with a specially developed stainless steel nut. Customers are specialist tradespeople, planners and wholesalers from across Europe; the owner-managed company delivered around 1.50 GW per year to 10 countries in 2024. Thanks to its location in one of the snowiest regions of Germany, the systems are designed for high snow and wind loads up to snow load zone 3.
